A Time To Live

What a time to be alive! I'm in good health, I have a solid support system, my personal and professional relationships are exactly where I'd like them to be. This life right here is too legit. I was asked recently, "If you could be any age for the rest of your life, what age would it be?" I said 28; the age I am now. I'm in the prime of my life and it feels fanfuckintastic. In the past I always waited for life to happen. I waited for opportunities to come, for love to find me, for my time to come. I never realized that my time has always been NOW. If I want that opportunity I have to reach for it. If I want love, I have to love myself first. When I think about the dreams that I review with God and the Universe every night, I realize that it means I need to be ready when those dreams start coming true. I'm always very careful about what I ask for and put out into the Universe, because I'm practically curating my own life. Patience is challenging, but timing is everything. And in my 28 years of existence I've finally learned that the time to live is right now. 

Shadows & Sunsets

I have an obsession with shadows and sunsets...

Shadows.

From light objects appear clearly.

 Though overexposure translates as flat and one dimensional,

Shadows give depth and purpose.

When I think of shadows, I think more of the light being pulled out of it. 

Such as in life.

No matter how dark, there is always a bit of light and reason.

Theres a bit of modesty and subtleness in shadows.

They don't strive for attention, but still have a way of drawing you in.

Theres mystery in the idea of light being blocked

And being able to see the beauty that it creates.

Sunsets. 

For me, sunsets are the Universe's friendly reminder that all things must come to an end. 

As the light fades, I'm taking in the last bit of life the sun has to offer.

I think about my day and how well I treated it.

Who was I today? Did I make a difference?

Those last few minutes before the moon takes over

Are my daily therapy sessions with the Universe.

Those orange, blue, and pink skies are like flames that are steadily being muffled by the night.

The vibrant glow seduces my soul

And calms my vibrant spirit.

I have an obsession with shadows and sunsets... 

They connect me spiritually

And remind me of the life I have to look forward to.
